New Southern District Delegate Is Elected

Ron Simmons, PT was elected as the new Southern District Delegate at the District Meeting on January 8th.  Ron was introduced to the Chapter by his colleague, Leanne Sparks (our Chapter Secretary and Reimbursement Committee Co-Chair), at last November’s Chapter Leadership and Team Building Workshop.  Ron has been a physical therapist for nearly 10 years.  For the past 8 years, he has worked in home care.  He reports that he now feels that he has the experience, knowledge, and commitment to serve the Chapter.  He will begin serving as one of our Chapter Delegates at the APTA’s House of Delegates in June of 2008. 

We’d like to welcome Ron to the Nevada Chapter of the APTA as our Southern District Delegate to the June 2008 APTA House of Delegates!

Meet your new Southern District Delegate…Ron Simmons

• Graduated from Brigham Young University in 1994 with a BS in Athletic Training.
• Graduated from University of Utah in 1998 with an MPT degree.
• Passed the GCS exam in 2007
• Currently works for Family Healthcare Services, where he has served as lead PT for the past 2 years
• Presently working on his t-DPT through Temple University
• Enjoys hiking, camping, ATVs, road-trips, movies, computers, and football
• 3 children, ages 11, 7, and 3
